Whitex to set up garment manufacturing unit in Karnaphuli EPZ

Whitex Garment, a Malaysian company has signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) on May 10, Thursday, for setting up a clothing manufacturing unit in Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone.
BEPZA Member Prasanta Bhushan Barua and Whitex Garment Managing Director Tan Tong Suan has signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Whitex Garment has decided to invest US $12.57 million in the project and has set a target of manufacturing 39 million dozens of men's and women's undergarments annually.
This venture of Malaysian company will create employment opportunity for 4478 Bangladeshi and 21 foreign nationals.
