Big Holdings to provide 100K garments for hurricane affected

Men's, women's and children's activewear & accessories producer Big Dog Big Dog Holdings Inc and its subsidiaries, Big Dog Sportswear and The Walking Company announced the launch of Operation Rescue Dog, a comprehensive donation program to aid those affected by Hurricane Katrina with much needed clothing, shoes, supplies and funds and support the pet rescue efforts of groups in the areas impacted. The campaign will include a company-wide donation drive, product donations and T-shirt sale donations in an effort to lend a helping paw to those in need.

"The hurricane and its subsequent damage and effect is likely the most significant disaster to ever strike in US and company go out to all those affected," said Andrew Feshbach, CEO of Big Dog Holdings Inc "After watching these horrific events unfold on television and in the news, they inspired to come together to help those suffering unimaginably. Through Operation Rescue Dog and the Big Dog Foundation, company will provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in product and cash to the relief effort."

To provide assistance to those affected by the hurricane, Big Dog Holdings Inc company be sending more than 100,000 garments and a large quantity of shoes to aid Katrina's victims. In addition, employees have rallied behind the relief effort by passing the hat to collect cash donations for the Red Cross and several animal welfare groups assisting with pet rescues in the areas affected. The company will also be producing approximately 20,000 T-shirts to sell in both Big Dog Sportswear and The Walking Company chains and through the Internet. All the profits from the sale of these shirts will be contributed directly to the Red Cross relief effort.
