Times are difficult and the retail industry in particular is going through a real stressful period, what with consumers pushing their hands deeply into their pockets and keeping away from the glitzy surroundings of malls and stores.
But amidst all this gloom, the Salil Chaturvedi managed retailer chain and brand 'Provogue', is contemplating investing Rs 250 million for setting up 35 more Provogue and eight Pro-mart outlets across the length and breadth of the country.
This was revealed by Mr Salil Chaturvedi, Director of Provogue, who said that these shops will be located in high streets and malls and the expansion will be equally spread out across Tier II and Tier III cities across India.
He added by saying that eight Pro-mart stores will be set up at an investment of Rs 100 million of which four will come up in this year and the rest, next year. Pro-mart stores are currently located in Ahmedabad and Indore and are typically spread over 20,000 sq.feet.
