S Kumars to turn World Player into Rs 5 bn brand

S Kumars Nationwide Ltd (SKNL), the textile and garment manufacturer is planning to turn its apparel and accessories brand – World Player into a Rs 5 billion brand within a period of next three to five years.

The company intends a pan-India expansion for the brand and plans to make its presence felt in 560 districts within a period of 18 months. It also anticipates monthly sales of Rs 150 million by the end of the fiscal year 2011-12.

The company has already decided to project cricket star Sachin Tendulkar as the brand ambassador for the brand. The brand was launched in the middle of 2010. Currently, it is available in 800 stores across 200 districts of the country.
