Plus Group Limited (PPGL) has achieved a 4.75% sales gain for the third quarter ending April 2011 with sales at $29.645m and gross margin dollars providing further gains said PPGL Chairman, Richard Punter.
Whilst the market continues to be tough, the group is continuing to make healthy growth in market share with its Postie same store sales showing an increase of 3.35%.
The refresh of the postie stores and new look marketing featuring Jayne Kiely and Ruby Higgins have made an impact across New Zealand; Babycity was also showing growth in its new segments.
Year to date sales now stand at $86.181m an increase of 4.6% on last year with same store sales showing an increase of 3.6%.
The remaining three months of the financial year are a major profit contributor for the group and we are looking forward to a strong finish. We cannot predict the end of year result, as the market remains volatile, however, with stock levels under control and within the budgeted plan, we remain confident that we will see an improvement on last year's result.
Christchurch earthquake update
The Group is very fortunate in enjoying the ongoing support from our staff and customers in Christchurch during these difficult times.
The Christchurch region has made solid gains against last year, notwithstanding three of its stores remaining closed; these are expected to reopen during July/ August.
