Messe Frankfurt's next interior and contract textiles event will be Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, which takes place from March 16–18, 2016 in Shanghai.

“March is the peak sourcing season in China for finished products, particularly bedding items, and this market has been growing rapidly in recent years,” a Messe Frankfurt press release stated.

According to market research conducted by CCPIT, 2015 domestic bedding sales in China reached $49 billion, an increase of 2.7 per cent compared to 2014.

Top Chinese bedding suppliers exhibiting at the show include; Bejirog, Beyond Group, Esteem Home, Fuanna, Luolai, Menglan, Shuixing, South Bedding Series and Yuyue.

They will be joined by towelling suppliers like Cottonfield, Dadong, Grace, Loftex and Sunvim Group, who too have confirmed their participation in March's Spring Edition.

In another development, in order to assist exhibitors to take advantage of strong market conditions, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Autumn has been extended from three to four days.

To be held from August 24–27, the home textiles trade show will occupy six halls of the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai.

Compared to a single hall for overseas exhibitors in 2015, this year, international exhibitors and overseas country pavilions will showcase their latest collections in hall 4.1.

Domestic and overseas exhibitors featuring products within the whole-home style concept, as well as editors, will be located in hall 5.1.

Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said, “Chinese consumers are increasingly demanding high quality and luxury home products.”

“They are also paying more attention to stylish and personalised home décor items such as tailor-made digital printing products,” she explained.

“This change certainly creates strong potential overseas suppliers of premium and high quality products,” Wen observed.

According to Messe Frankfurt, the huge demand for home renovation projects in China also creates opportunities for home textiles producers.

Quoting a Chinese home living website, Messe Frankfurt said the value of home renovation projects is forecast to exceed $48 billion annually in coming years.

“Furthermore, according to figures from 2014, textile products account for around 25 per cent of the total cost of home renovation projects in China,” it informed. (AR)
