Global clothing retailer Bebe Stores said its recently signed partnership with Bluestar Alliance is proving successful as efforts of Bluestar has yielded important extensions for Bebe on a domestic and global scale.

According to the retailer, prospective licensees have evinced more interest since the formation of this joint venture, which now expects to increase the category brand footprint.

Licensees recently committed include GBG USA for sportswear and denim, Mamiye Brothers for children's apparel, PPI Apparel Group for intimates and Accutime Watch Corp for watches.

Other licensees include GBG Sock for socks, American Traveler for luggage, Haskel Jewels for jewellery and Miworld Accessories for travel accessories.

“Categories such as dresses, active-wear, outerwear, handbags, and cold weather accessories are all under negotiation,” the retailer added.

The JV will also look to expand Bebe's presence internationally, with the intent to double the current number of 150 within two years through strategic retail licensing agreements.

Taking advantage of Bebe's Middle Eastern presence in UAE and Saudi Arabia, the JV will also be focusing on expanding the brand's retail presence in Central and South America, Europe and Asia/Pacific. (AR)
