Films that GFF will screen include critically acclaimed and award winning movies like Weaves of Maheshwar and Unravel. Many of the films showcased, like Frontline Fashion, will be premiered for the first time in India. GFF will be conceptualised by GreenStitched, with the support of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bengaluru.
“Sustainability is at the forefront of fashion industry. By supporting an event like the GreenStitched Film Festival, NIFT Bengaluru is involving the academic and industry community to understand the nuances surrounding sustainable fashion,” said professor Shivalingam, director of NIFT Bengaluru.
GFF is a day-long screening of movies and documentaries on sustainable fashion. The GFF will include movies on various topics material to the fashion industry – cotton, waste, design, slow and fast fashion, and social issues among others. The GFF will explore various impacts of fashion industry on planet and people and highlight the initiatives taken to shape a better industry.
“GreenStitched Film Festival has been curated with films that cover a range of issues like cotton, fast fashion, slow fashion, social issues, waste and design. There is something to learn for anyone who basically wears clothes,” said Roshni Rajendra, festival manager. (RR)
