Jacket Required, the UK’s only trade event presenting a curated showcase of the most progressive and contemporary men’s and womenswear collections, will be held on January 23 and 24, 2019, in London, UK. The premium fashion show will host a line-up of the world’s leading fashion brands, providing a platform for established and new talent in the industry.

Brands taking part include; RÆBURN, G-Star Raw, BenKlark, Native North, Haar, Sneaker Lab, Element x Nigel Cabourn, La Paz, Le Mont Saint Michel, Ballonet Socks, Oliver Sweeney, Ben Sherman, TOMS, Fjallraven, Chatham, London Brogues, Chrome, Didriksons, Peregrine, Colmar, Sandqvist, Cheaney, Grenson, Musto, Gloverall, Hunter, Tretorn, Hummel, Weekend Offender, K-Way, Sperry, Psycho Bunny, Le Mont Saint Michel, Knickerbocker, Colorful Standard, Quoddy, Armor Lux, Dickies, Guess, Happy Socks, Pendleton, 7L System, Mephisto Originals, Portuguese Flannel, Teva, Yogi Footwear, Karl Kani, American Trench, Craighill, Monokel, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers with demos of their denim repair service, and many more.

In addition to these, Jacket Required will shine a spotlight on the growing emphasis and importance placed on sustainability within the fashion sector. In an industry all about supply and demand, there are growing numbers of brands, buyers and consumers that place innovation and transparency at their centre - with a commitment to upholding and promoting environmentally friendly practices. Rather than simply embracing a ‘sustainability trend’ Jacket Required presents a panel discussion providing insight into sustainability and responsibility to our environment, as industry leaders share knowledge about best practice, according to a press release.

British fashion commentator and professor of diversity Caryn Franklin M.B.E. MSc (Psych) MBPsS will moderate the session titled ‘Crafted to Last – the movement towards slow fashion’. Taking part in the discussion will be a panel of industry experts.

British fashion designer Christopher Raeburn, who is known for his re-appropriation of military Stacey Wood, Founder of King & Tuckfield, a men’s and women’s collection where premium material, provenance, and a sustainable approach are key to the brand will be part of the panel. Han Ates from Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, makers of ready-to-wear selvedge and organic raw denim with a focus on sustainability, community and unmatched quality, will also be present.

Sofie Schop, who has over 12 years’ experience in sustainability in the apparel industry and currently manages the global sustainability team at G-Star RAW, will be sharing insights into how the brand’s sustainability team works towards positive impact on the environment and the people involved in G-Star’s production processes.

TOMS Fall/Winter ’19 footwear is inspired by timeless design and tomorrow’s changemakers. The collection brings winterised sneakers and boots for both women and men. The Mesa, Cascada, and Arroyo come in waterproof styles that blend vintage influences and rugged accents for a fresh, unexpected take on cold weather wear. The Venice Collection also returns as a tribute to the brand’s roots and a better tomorrow. This season’s collection lives up to its Venice namesake, blending bold colours, boardwalk grunge, and chunky soles on iconic silhouettes.

TRVL LITE also makes its return with a leather capsule collection, underscoring quality, and lightweight design made to travel and play with purpose. (GK)
