Fashion centre responds to customers' changing needs

This year, the fair is attracting a bigger party from far and wide. A total of 1,100 exhibitors- - 22 percent more than last year - are coming from 25 countries and regions including the Chinese mainland, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore,Vietnam, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States.

A wide array of exhibits are in the limelight, encompassing children's wear, men's and ladies' wear, lingerie, sportswear and a wide range of accessories such as costume jewellery, handbags, shoes and other garment-related services.

The exhibition is also divided into different zones to cater for the needs of different buyers:

"Garment & Accessories Mart" features basic mass merchandise
"Fashion Gallery" features high fashion and brand labels
"International Fashion Designers' Showcase" presents 49 designers' collections from all over the world.
"Body & Intimate Wear Zone."
"Bridal & Evening Wear Zone."

On top of the exhibition, six catwalk shows will be staged during the week. A special highlight will be the "Hong Kong New Fashion Collection Award" - a joint-effort where 11 clothing businesses and talented young designers will strut their creative and marketable collections.

Hong Kong Fashion Week is also the trade information platform for the latest industry developments and trends.

There will be four seminars, with industry experts elaborating on upcoming colour and fabric trends, as well as sharing their insights on hot topics such as "How to Build Brands and Tap the Chinese mainland Market."
