Paris ready-to-wear fashion fair opened with a Japanese bang on Sunday displaying flamboyant collections of Sadaharu Hoshino, Akira Minagawa and Belgian Maison Martin Margiela adorning the magnificent Louvre.
Minagawa used fabrics garlanded with spectacular designs of floral prints resembling those drawn by color pencils as well as embroidery that summed up to present light, fresh and natural garments.
Sadaharu Hoshino unveiled spring/summer collection of flowing feminine dresses in whites, ivory and pastels with dark and black stripes, accessorized with knit scarves and wraps that were also combined with black and navy skirts.
Martin Margiela show highlight was the 'nude tops' with just black disks for breasts coalesced with one-legged trousers or slit-skirts. Figure hugging straight cut skirts were topped with lose-fitting frilly blouses.
Japanese artist Yohji Yamamoto and Dutch design duo Viktor and Rolf showcased their creations on Monday.
Paris is surely going to be bussing excitedly as over 90 brands are scheduled for shows here over a period of around 10 days.
