Shima Seiki to hold private exhibition in Italy

Shima Seiki Italia S.p.A., Italian subsidiary of computerised knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd., will hold a private expo at its Carpi office in Italy, on December 12 and 13, 2017. The expo will show computerised flat knitting technology, with a preview of machines and samples to be shown at Pitti Filati, ISPO, and Premiere Vision shows.
On display, will be the flagship MACH2XS series Wholegarment knitting machine featuring SlideNeedles mounted on four needlebeds and the company’s original spring-type moveable sinker system, as well as the compact SWG-N2 series Wholegarment knitting machine with capability for industrial textiles. For shaped knitting, SRY and SVR-SP with loop pressers are capable of inlay technique for producing unique hybrid knitwear with woven textures.
Demonstrations will also be performed on Shima Seiki’s SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system that is at the core of the company’s “Total Fashion System” concept. With comprehensive support of all aspects throughout the supply chain, APEX3 integrates production into one smooth and efficient workflow from yarn development, product planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion. Especially effective is APEX3’s capability to eliminate wasteful production with Virtual Sampling. Photo-realistic simulation capability minimises the need for sample-making, effectively reducing time, cost and materials from the sampling process. In addition, virtual samples can be used in pre-sales events at the pre-production stage to determine demand before actual production begins, realising optimum inventory and thus preventing leftover stock. In this way, waste can be eliminated, contributing to sustainable fashion. (GK)
