North India’s cotton yarn prices declined today as the market did not find support from the buyers. The prices came down by ₹5-10 per kg in Delhi and by ₹2 per kg in Ludhiana. There were speculations that some brands were buying actively, but not enough to improve the market sentiments. There was no improvement in Panipat’s recycled yarn market.

In Delhi, the weaving industry was cautious about buying fresh yarn due to the uncertainty surrounding the demand for fabrics and garments. Domestic and export demand of cotton yarn was also low. “The yarn market lacked sustainable support. Improved buying was notices, but it could not support the bearish market,” a Delhi-based trader told Fibre2Fashion

In the Delhi market, 30 count combed yarn was traded at ₹285-290 per kg (GST extra), 40 count combed at ₹315-320 per kg, 30 count carded at ₹260-265 per kg and 40 count carded at ₹295-300 per kg, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.

Cotton yarn prices eased by ₹2 per kg in Ludhiana. A trader from Ludhiana said that cotton yarn market is not expected to improve as domestic and international market remained sluggish. In Ludhiana, 30 count cotton combed yarn was sold at ₹280-290 per kg (GST inclusive) and 20 and 25 count combed yarn were traded at ₹270-280 per kg and ₹275-285 per kg respectively. Carded yarn of 30 count remained steady at ₹255-265 per kg, as per TexPro.

Panipat’s recycled yarn market remained bearish amid poor demand. Mills and traders tried hard to maintain the yarn prices. According to trade sources, if demand does not improve soon, recycled yarn prices may decline. 10s recycled yarn (white) was traded at ₹90-95 per kg (GST extra) in the Panipat market today. 10s recycled yarn (coloured - high quality) was traded at ₹105-110 per kg, 10s recycled yarn (coloured - low quality) at ₹80-85 per kg and 20s recycled PC coloured (high quality) at ₹110-115 per kg. 30 recycled PC coloured (high quality) was at ₹150-155 per kg. 10s optical yarn was priced at ₹100-110 per kg. Comber prices further increased to ₹150-155 per kg and recycled polyester fibre (PET bottle fibre) was at ₹75-77 per kg.

North India’s cotton prices eased by ₹50-79 per maund of 37.2 kg. The arrival was noted at 20,000 bales of 170 kg in north India. According to local traders, cotton arrival remained steady. There is no scope of high arrival and low prices. Cotton was traded at ₹6,625-6,675 per maund in Punjab, ₹6,550-6,625 per maund in Haryana and ₹6,750-6,800 per maund in upper Rajasthan, and ₹64,000-66,000 per candy of 356 kg in lower Rajasthan.
