A special fashion show ‘When Denim Met Ao Dai’ would be held as part of the Denimsandjeans Vietnam on the evening of June 12. Ao Dai, a traditional Vietnamese and slightly ancient fashion wear, is an aspect that expresses the desire to affirm the image of Vietnam denim in the eyes of the world. Never seen before denim avatar would be seen on the ramp walk.

The collection for the fashion show has been developed by Nhun, owned by Reply 1987, and stitched by Rose Garments Vietnam using the fabrics of Prosperity Textile and TCE Denim.

The designers have developed the collection using modern denim materials, combining beads and decorative accessories with modern breaths. Jean-denim fabric made of 100 per cent cotton or cotton spandex has been used for the creations. Vietnam Fashion Academy, Pattern 88, Rose Garment & Washing, and Benny Phan Studio were consulted to design, model and develop the products.

In addition to the fashion show, the fourth edition of Denimsandjeans Vietnam would bring the latest AW20/21 denim trends which the visitors will get to see at Denim Trend Zone. The Trend Zone will have the latest trends by the exhibitors of the show, and it will be divided primarily into four categories.

The first category, My Mother Earth, dedicates its entire collection to sustainability. It shares the idea of developing such garmenting process which does not adversely impact the land, air, and water on the earth. Products made using GOOD Cotton (BCI, Organic, etc), environment-friendly dyed chemicals, minimum water and recycled most of the offshoot waste would be shown in this category. Recycled, repurposed variations of the products will also be a good fit in this category.

The second category, My Creations, will show the most important developments that the companies have done in the current season. The third category, My Other Colors, celebrates the multicultural multi convicts of denim through its various colours. It will include colours that are vibrantly different from regular indigo, and also colours that inspire, have some special dyeing characteristics, special technologies used or just something cool.

The last category, My Special Washes, would showcase all beautifully crafted and washed denim, which are like wonderfully polished diamonds.

The two-day event would bring denim supply chain partners and experts on one platform. Invited buyers have been sent sustainable invitation cards. The cards, made of seed papers, can be used to grow plants after its use and the same message has been conveyed to the invitees so that the objective of sending such invites could be fulfilled, the organisers said.
