Ethylene down in Europe but stable in US last week

Ethylene prices went down in Europe in the last week ended Jan 22 due to poor downstream product demand in the region.

However, due to firm energy prices in the market, average prices were stable in the US.

In Europe, average prices fell by US$ 30/ton or 3.45 per cent and were quoted at US$ 840/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In US, average prices were steady and were assessed at 15 cents/pound in the last week, as giants its prior week.
