For maintaining sustainability in the textile supply chain, a cooperation agreement in pollutant management has been signed by Eurofins WKS Labservice, a German textile laboratory. The association with German Fashion Modeverband Deutschland will offer long-term growth through expertise along with international and efficient laboratory services.

"Clothes are being constantly tested and closely monitored. But in many cases, test laboratories do not offer the perfect service and the focus is on the middle class, which our members need. This often leads to unnecessary testing, which causes loss of time and money," explained Thomas Lange, chief executive of German Fashion.

This partnership will provide testing benefits to more than 300 members, Eurofins press release stated. The German Fashion Association represents the interests of the German fashion industry, especially the manufacturers of women's and men's outerwear, sportswear and workwear.

The Eurofins WKS Labservice consists of the leading European specialist supplier of textile tasks WKS and the globally operating laboratory group Eurofins, with nearly 45,000 employees and 800 laboratories at locations including Europe, China, Vietnam, India and the US.

In addition to the textile tests, Eurofins WKS also carries out tests in other product groups in the network, such as toys, cosmetics, accessories and consumer goods, as many manufacturers have expanded their product range in recent years.

"Thanks to the cooperation with Eurofins WKS Labservice, we can offer our members a secure, cost-reduced, competent and international quality assurance service that does not exist so far - with experts who speak the language of clothing manufacturers," said Lange.

Eurofins has also signed similar settlements with relevant organisations like AFIRM Group, ZDHC Foundation - Roadmap to Zero Programme or CADS among others, in order to contribute for more sustainable and environmental protection in the complex supply chain. (RR)
