A textile park will be set up in Haryana at a cost of Rs 181 crore to promote the sector, Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar announced on the concluding day of the 'Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2016' in Gurgaon on Tuesday.

He also said that the Centre will give a subsidy of Rs 40 crore for the project.

A Rs 14-crore Incubation Centre will also be set up to provide skill development to youths in the sector, Gangwar said at a session titled 'Haryana as Hub of Textiles, Apparel, Accessories and Leatherwear: Marking a Mark in the Global Landscape'.

The Textiles Minister underlined the potential of the sector, saying that the readymade garments industry in Haryana is growing at a rate of 25 per cent.

Haryana's Industries and Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu said the state government has prepared Enterprises Promotion Policy-2015 to create a congenial atmosphere for promotion of the textile sector.

Under this policy, there is a transparent online clearance system. The government has also formulated a good labour welfare policy. (SH)
