Mayer & Cie, a German knitting machinery manufacturer, recently received the Top 100 award, a recognition given to innovative German small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), for its latest innovation, the Spinitsystems.

The Spinitsystems is Mayer & Cie's spinning and knitting technology that lowers production cost, reduces CO2 emissions, and lessens capital expenditure.

The company invests five to six per cent of its annual sales revenue in research and development and the Spinitsystems technology alone accounts for about 50 national and international patent applications.

“We are delighted to have been named one of the Top 100 companies in Germany.  This accolade confirms that we are indeed fulfilling our claim to be an innovation driver in the circular knitting machine sector,” said Sebastian Mayer, director in charge of corporate development, Mayer & Cie.

This year's Top 100 includes 32 world and 97 national market leaders. (HO)
