MSI scores validate Thai Acrylic Fibre's Regel's sustainability cred

Regel is a recycled acrylic fibre from TAF that offers a sustainable solution to the textile industry’s waste management challenges through an authentic and intimate chemical recycling process that delivers warmth, comfort, and vibrant shades, the company said in a press release.

Regel stands alongside Radianza—both are from TAF—as the only two acrylic fibre brands to have unveiled their MSI Scores, setting them apart as leaders in sustainable practices within the industry.

A hallmark of this achievement lies in the substantial reduction in the environmental footprint facilitated by Regel. In contrast to virgin acrylic fibre, the MSI Scores and LCA study show significant improvement, particularly in terms of global warming potential (carbon footprint), showcasing a reduction of approximately 30 per cent. This improvement is largely attributed to the integration of a minimum of 50 per cent recycled content in Regel, effectively decreasing the reliance on virgin polymer, which is a primary contributor of global warming potential.

What sets Regel apart is its extensive array of sustainable features, establishing it as high-quality recycled acrylic fibre. Regel comes with GRS Certification and Bluesign Approved certification, affirming its eco-friendly status. Further adding to its credentials are MSI Scores and an independently conducted LCA Study, the release added.

The fibre is available in variants containing 50 per cent and 75 per cent recycled content, offering flexibility in its applications. Additionally, Regel is manufactured using clean solvents and avoids the use of DMF/DMAc, underscoring its commitment to environmental responsibility.
