Curl types and inferior quality of fur are adversely affecting the overall trade of the industry, especially for the Swakara category.
Infact, recently, around 55,826 Swakara pelts were sold at an average price of Krone 264,64. This rate represents a dip of about 24 percent as compared to the quotations in April 2007.
Besides, lack of severe cold in Europe and other countries also led to lowered demand, which inturn supported the slump in prices.
Fashion giants, who are key customers of fur, seem to be having large stocks and thus needed small amounts.
Major buyers were London-based, followed by Japan and Germany, respectively.
Next auction is scheduled in Copenhagen in April 2008.
