Propylene prices in the Far East region, which had risen on the previous Wednesday, continued to shoot up for the fourth week yesterday. FOB South Korea flared up from US $895-897 per ton to $965-967 per ton.
Prices of Propylene (polymerization level), FD Northwest Europe and CIF Northwest not to be left behind, too rose sharply by €60 per metric ton from last Wednesday's level of €580-590 and €570-580 per metric ton to €640-650 per metric ton and €630-640 per metric ton respectively.
Propylene prices in the US markets, which had picked pace in the first three weeks of June, but lost the momentum in the last week, was able to grow back on Wednesday, albeit marginally from US cent 36.130-36.380 per lb in the previous week to US cent 36.130-36.380 per lb on July 1.
