Lenzing wins the Golden Pegasus Award – the most important business prize of the Province of Upper Austria.
This year the Pegasus, the most important business awards granted by Upper Austria, were bestowed for the 18th time. Once again Lenzing's entry was successful. Following a gold and silver prize in the past, this year Lenzing's Pegasus herd was expanded to include another Golden Pegasus.
The Gala Night of the Economy featuring the Pegasus award ceremony took place on June 9, 2011 in the Bruckner House in Linz. In the presence of Austria's political elite, including Chancellor Faymann, Vice Chancellor Spindelegger and Upper Austria's Governor Pu¨hringer, as well as about 250 guests of the Upper Austrian business community, the award was accepted on behalf of Lenzing by Angelika Guldt, Head of Corporate Communications and Wolfgang Plasser, Head of the Business Unit Nonwoven Fibers, at the big gala night in the Bruckner House.
In the 2010 financial year, the Lenzing Group once again achieved record results. The underlying reasons were the dynamic expansion of fiber production, very strong demand for Lenzing fibers and the significantly higher fiber sales prices compared to the previous year. These factors were also the basis for the decision of the jury.
