Added-value of textile sector up in May

China's industrial production achieved steady growth in May, added value of large-scale industries increased 13.3 percent year on year, but annual growth rate fell 0.1 percentage points from April, according to National Bureau of Statistics.

From January to May, added value of large-scale industries gained 14.0 percent year on year, but growth rate narrowed 0.2 percentage points from January to April.

Among them, added value of textile industry increased 7.0 percent in May.

National Bureau of Statistics reported that total retail sales of social consumer goods steadily grew in May, retail sales of social consumer goods totaled 1.4697 trillion Yuan, up 16.9 percent year on year, but growth rate fell 0.2 percentage points from April.

From January to May this year, retail sales of social consumer goods totaled 7.1268 trillion yuan, up 16.6 percent year on year, growth rate was 0.1 percentage points higher than January to April.

From perspective of month-on-month comparison, total retail sales of social consumer goods increased by 1.28 percent in May.

Among them, garments and textiles realized retail sales of 58.9 billion yuan in May, up 21.8 percent year on year. From January-May this year, total retail sales completed 315.2 billion yuan, an increase of 23.5 percent year on year.
