China's textiles and apparel exports showing a year-on-year rise of 39.1 percent touched US$ 20.34 billion in May 2011, according to the data released by the Customs department.
During the first five months of the current year, China exported textiles and apparels worth US$ 88.84 billion, registering a 26.6 percent increase over the exports during the corresponding period last year.
When calculated on the basis of Chinese cotton year that began in September 2010, the country's total textiles and apparel exports until May this year have been worth US$ 165.59 billion, indicating a y-o-y increase of 25.1 percent.
