Japanese petrochemical giant Tonen Chemical Corp has resumed back the operations of its Naphtha cracker in Kawasaki-Tokyo from Thursday last week onwards. The unit is now functional at its normal capacities producing 491,000 tonnes naphtha per year.
The cracker had been closed for its operations, momentarily, as it timely figured out danger due to high level vibrations in the compressors.
“The cracker had been shut since 10th of this month, because we had noticed high scaled vibrations at one of our compressors,” confirms an official source.
With a view to prevent any harm, playing safe, the management had decided to shut the unit for a detailed inspection and repairs.
Tonen Chemical Corp is the subsidiary of Tonen General Sekiyu KK, Exxon Mobil's Japan unit.
