The US Department of Commerce recently announced the implementation of strategic trade measures, which excludes China, from the list of 44 countries and regions that can enjoy trade facilitation measures.

Spokesman of China Ministry of Commerce - Yao Jian pointed out that the United States maintains discriminatory practices over China and it is deeply disappointed with the announcement.

Yao said the United States stresses its trade deficit with China on one hand, while it restricts exports to China on the other hand, as it refuses Chinese companies to enjoy relevant trade facilitation, which is a contradiction in logic and practice.

In recent years, US exports to China have grown rapidly, but exports of high-tech products have lagged far behind agricultural and other commodities.

China's vast market creates tremendous business opportunities for US enterprises to expand business, but unreasonable control policies on exports, puts constraints on development of bilateral trade, along with which, it also directly harms interests of US enterprises and reduces US jobs.

Yao said that, China hopes that the US side takes practical action to implement US-China Strategic Economic Dialogue and the consensus reached by China-US Joint Commission on Commerce.

He also hoped that, the US changes discriminatory practices over China, promotes substantive development of Sino-US high-tech trade, as well as promotes trade balance between the two countries.
