Chinese wool imports up

Customs statistics reveal that, China imported about 333,400 tons of wool in 2010, an increase of 2.1 percent compared with the previous year to set the highest volume of China's wool imports in a year.
Amongst them, China imported 265,100 tons of raw wool in 2010, up 1.3 percent year on year; washed wool reached 47,100 tons, a rise of 20.4 percent and imports of wool top marked 14,600 tons, down 21.5 percent.
Imports of carbonized wool registered 2587 tons, down 21.5 percent and imports of worsted shorthair stood at 3151 tons, an increase of 25.6 percent year on year.
