Spot market of PTA imports softens

Spot market conditions for PTA imports softened in North China on Friday. There was hardly any buying interest in the market as cargo holders made offers at prices around 9500-9550 Yuan/ton. In response, buyers bid for prices around 9400-9450 Yuan/ton, and finally negotiated for around 9420-9450 Yuan/ton. But on the whole, the trading atmosphere presented a deserted look with very few actual negotiations taking place.

In East China too, the spot market for PTA imports remained flat. While cargo holders quoted price of around 9500-9550 Yuan/ton, buying inquiries from downstream manufacturers were around 9,400 Yuan/ton. The trading atmosphere was light, with very few actual negotiations taking place at price of around 9450-9500 Yuan/ton.

For goods made in Taiwan too, the spot market of PTA imports was light. Cargo holders quoted a price of around US$ 1260-65/ton, and actual negotiations took place at around US$ 1250-60/ton.

For South Korean goods, offers were made at prices around US$ 1240-45/ton, downstream buyers asked for around US$ 1230/ton, and finally negotiated for around US$ 1235-40/ton.
