Textile manufacturers get good response at Utah trade event

Textile manufacturers have received a good response at the four-day 2011 Outdoor Retail Summer Market held in Salt Lake City, Utah, hailed to be one of the biggest gatherings of outdoor recreation industry in the world.

With participation of 29 textile manufacturing companies and representatives of five trade unions, Taiwan had the largest presence of the countries participating in the trade event held in US, Taiwan Textile Federation said.

These companies received orders amounting to US$ 1.5 million, and are expecting another US$ 12.80 million worth of orders in follow-ups, the Federation added.

Taiwan's pavilion was spread over an area of 4,400 sq. ft. and consisted of an exclusive zone for the promotion of selected products by the country's leading textile exporters. The products were displayed along separate themes like 'outdoors', 'function', and 'environmental protection'.

The Taiwan pavilion was visited by around 300 buyers that included several well-known brands like Nike, Under Armour, Victoria's Secret and Jansport, the Federation said.

Chia Heir Industrial Co., Shinkong Textile Co., Fulltide Enterprise Co. and Yu Yuan Textile Co. were among the local companies that participated in the event, according to Taiwan Textile Federation.
