Triton announces new RC1000 coating system

Triton Systems Inc (Triton) ASSET division, announces the RC1000, its full scale roll-to-roll atmospheric plasma coating system.

The RC1000 system can be used to functionalize woven and nonwoven textiles, plastic films, paper and other rolled products. Based on our proprietary atmospheric pressure plasma liquid technology, the RC1000 enables new functionalities via true surface modification without changing properties such as air permeability of textiles, or weight and appearance of treated rolled substrates. The RC1000 allows us to immediately introduce our Invexus brand of liquid repellent, antimicrobial and insect repellent coatings that can be used on technical textiles and specialty films.

The main features of RC1000 and its ASSET process are:

• Suitable for rolls up to 72 inches wide
• Designed for a wide range of rolled goods (textiles, paper, membranes, films)
• Environmental-friendly process (low energy and material consumption, no water or solvent used - hence no waste stream)
• One step coating and curing process (no oven drying/curing required)

“We are pleased to announce the introduction of the RC1000” said Arjan Giaya, Vice President at Triton Systems and Director of the ASSET division. “We believe this is the first industrial scale equipment for atmospheric pressure plasma coating of webs as wide as 72 inches. This is a major milestone for ASSET division. Now our customers can receive the Invexus brand of coatings for their full-width rolled products.”

ASSET (Advanced Solutions in Surface Engineering Technology), a division of Triton Systems Inc., develops and commercializes new products based on patented atmospheric pressure liquid deposition technology. ASSET has an R&D group in Massachusetts, and an application center in Fargo, ND. ASSET offers custom solution development, coating services and atmospheric plasma coating equipment. The ASSET division sells and markets the Invexus brand of coatings.
