He elaborated, “Even with viscose operations using a slightly higher preferred liquor ratio of 1:5, compared with 1:8 using other dyeing units, we are making considerable water and dye stuff savings and producing a higher quality product.”

He went on to describe how Hering is today able to make savings of up to 40% less water usage than before, allowing the company to meet new regulations and stay on its existing site.
“Our consumption of water was too high but now, with the reduced liquor ratio, we are using considerably less, plus we are also making savings of at least 6% in dyestuffs.”
The three chamber iMaster H2O installation – each with a 200 kg capacity – also incorporates a 3000 litre heat exchanger to preheat the dye liquor using heat from the steam boiler. The tank also provides water for bleaching and rinsing the fabric at 80º. Thies CCR Combined Colling and Rinsing and RINSETronic systems are also fitted to provide reduced rinsing times ensuring further economies.
The iMaster H20 has been designed for all fabrics and knitted goods to offer ultra low dye liquor levels with ratios as low as 1:3.7 for some cottons. It is based on 40 years experience and is engineered to ensure textile plant is able to adhere to the most stringent of international and local environmental protection regulations.
