The major price indices have remained rather stable with decreasing ranges of fluctuation. The Bremen CIF Index has not altered at all over the past days. The situation in the countries of origin as well as at domestic processing industries has not considerably changed compared to the previous week. Enquiries of the spinning industries were still predominantly for price orientation. Delivery dates in the first half of 2012 enjoyed increased interest. If available offers met the price conceptions, contracts were closed mainly for nearby dates.

In the medium staple range cotton was traded from Argentina and West Africa for prompt and the 4th quarter 2011, West Africa for the 2nd quarter 2012 as well; Brazil for the 4th quarter 2011 and the 1st quarter 2012, Greece for the 4th quarter 2011 as well as the 1st and 2nd quarter 2012.

The need for LS-cotton was satisfied by Egyptian Giza 86 for prompt up to the 4th quarter 2011.
