Strong wool sale with good demand - BWMB

The fifth British Wool Sale of the 2011/12 Season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 1,797,057 kilos.
The sale started more strongly than at recent sales with good demand throughout, this produced a clearance of 82%.
Compared to the last time sold:
• Pick and Supers Fully Firm
• Halfbreds Firm
• Crosses Buyers Favour
• Radnors Buyers Favour
• Welsh 2 - 3% cheaper
• Swaledale Fully Firm
A farmer run organisation, the BWMB was established in 1950 to operate a central marketing system for UK fleece wool, with the aim of achieving the best possible net return for producers.
It is the only organisation in the world that collects, grades, sells and promotes fleece wool and the only remaining agricultural commodity board in the UK.
