The Center for Innovation and Technology of the Textile Industry in Andalucía (CITTA) has launched an advisory service for sourcing of raw materials in China for the benefit of those companies that want to make purchases from the Asian country back lack adequate resources to do so.
The service will be provided in collaboration with Tino Stone Group and IMP Consultants, and will be financed by Innoempresa for the first six participating firms.
The logistics management consulting programme would provide service in several phases. The first phase would involve analysis of the current procurement process of the company. Subsequently, provisioning from China would be arranged within a period of one year.
Tomas Delgado, President of CITTA, said the advantages of the new service will be huge for Andalusian textile companies, as it would help them optimize products and supplier selection processes. It would also help them cut down on costs and find the right supplier, he added.
CITTA also keeps a track of quality at source and hence, Andalusian companies can avoid such inputs which are not in conformity with the standards. This would result in avoiding cost overruns as well as problems with customers, Mr. Delgado said.
Andalucia is the largest autonomous province in Spain.
