Italy imported 21.01 million metres of gray silk fabrics from China during the first seven months of 2011, registering a decline of 22.6 percent year-on-year.
The gray silk fabric imports were worth US$ 108.25 million, up 27.08 percent year-on-year. Average unit price also increased to US$ 5.15 per metre of fabric, showing a surge of 64.18 percent year-on-year.
Volume-wise, Italy's imports accounted for 21.38 percent of China's total gray silk fabric exports, while value-wise, Italy's imports contributed 24.82 percent to the total revenue earned by China through export of gray silk fabrics during January-July period.
