Research and scientific studies show that House Dust Mite Allergen (Der P1) is one of the most common causes triggering asthma and other allergies.

House Dust Mites (HDM) are microscopic organisms which thrive in warm and humid environments. There are up to 2 million House Dust Mites festering in an average bed. We sloughoff dead skin cells which get deposited on beds and beddings. Perspiration, Warmth and Humid Conditions create an ideal environment for the growth of Fungi on dead skin cells. Fungi transform dead skin cells into soft, edible and nutritious food source for dust mites, allowing them to live and multiply.

Microscopic droppings from Dust Mites get dried and air-borne. We inhale these and with continuous exposure we get sensitized to these allergens which trigger asthma attacks. Children are particularly sensitive to Der P1 allergens. Asthma generally appears in the first 18 months of life, precisely due to the presence of DER P1 allergen.

Amicor Fiber uses a unique technology to combat House Dust Mites. Amicor Fibers inhibit growth of fungi and prevent dead skin flakes from getting transformed into nutritious food for mites. Amicor prevents house dust mites from living inside textiles simply by taking away the food source. It breaks the life cycle of the dust mites. Amicor brand has been a leader in antimicrobial textiles and has established itself in the home-textile sector specifically for beds and beddings.

Amicor Fibers are used in Mattresses, Pillows, Duvets and Mattress Protectors to create a healthy and fresh environment. Amicor fibers keep mattress and beddings fresh. Clinical studies in Europe show that Amicor fiber in beds and beddings helps to reduce problems like asthma, rhinitis and sinusitis caused by dust-mite allergens. The performance of Amicor brand fiber is certified by international certifying bodies like Allergy UK Foundation (UK) with their “Seal of Approval”, and endorsed by Red Cross Asthma Hospital (Creu Roja Catalunya), Spain.

Simmons SEA is the licensee for Simmons mattresses in Southeast Asia and South Asia markets.
