Japan imported US$ 24.64 million worth of gray silk fabrics from China during the first seven months of 2011, registering an increase of 42.47 percent year-on-year.
The country imported 5.99 million metres of gray silk fabrics during the seven-month period, which was marginally up by 1.86 percent year-on-year.
Average price worked out to US$ 4.11/metre, that is, a rise of 39.87 percent year-on-year.
Japan's imports accounted for 6.09 percent of total volume of gray silk fabrics exported by China during January-July period. Value-wise, the Japanese imports contributed 5.65 percent to the total revenue earned by China from exporting gray silk fabrics.
