Bradford Printing & Finishing LLC will reopen its Westerly textile mill on Tuesday.
The mill was shut in July this year, after the company failed to recover the loss that it suffered due to heavy floods of 2010.
Last year's devastating floods caused the plant to lose around four million USD, but the plant was able to regain only half the amount till July. It still awaits the receipt of the federal grant of US$ 700,000 to help it overcome the devastating effects of the flood.
Initially, the plant will resume operations with 20 workers in part-time shifts. Eventually, the company expects dozens of its former workers to get to work.
With the reopening of the textile mill, the local economy of Bradford village nearly Westerly is expected to come back to life.
Bradford's textile finishing plant was commissioned in 1911 and engages in printing fabric for military uniforms.
