The industrial output of China's textile industry grew 8.3 percent year-on-year in September, according to the data released by National Bureau of Statistics.
The data says China's GDP reached 32.0692 trillion Yuan during January-September 2011, registering a rise of 9.4 percent year-on-year, in terms of comparable prices. The textile sector, however, grew at a slower pace of 7.5 percent year-on-year during the same period.
The retail sales of knitted fabrics, garments, shoes and hats registered 64.5 billion Yuan in September, showing an increase of 7.5 percent year-on-year. During the initial three quarters of current year, their retail sales amounted to 545 billion Yuan, up 24.8 percent year-on-year.
In terms of industrial producer price, the price of clothing items increased by 4.5 percent year-on-year in September. The rise in clothing price works out to 4.3 percent year-on-year during first nine months of 2011.
Similarly, in terms of consumer price, the price of clothing items rose by 3.2 percent year-on-year in September, and 1.6 percent year-on-year during January to September.
