China imported 253,000 tons of cotton in September, representing an increase of 52,000 tons or 25.9 percent year on year, according to Chinese Customs statistics. From January to September, the country imported a total of 1.943 million tons of cotton, down 9.7 percent year on year.
Textile and apparel exports registered US $22.98 billion in September, up 14.8 percent year on year, but the growth rate fell 11.6 percentage points from the previous month. From January to September, textile and apparel exports realized US $ 186.14 billion, an increase of 24.3 percent year on year.
Yarn production touched 2.63 million tons in September, an increase of 296,000 tons, or 12.7 percent, year on year. From January to September, total yarn output reached 20.95 million tons, an increase of 11.3 percent year on year.
