Importers from over 50 countries were seen at different stalls showcasing various items at around 300 booths set up in the five halls of the exhibition centre.
Of around 300 stalls at the expo, 270 were allocated to domestic producers, while others were provided to Chinese and Japanese conglomerates, which also remained to be a centre of attraction for the overseas visitors.
Majority of over 600 overseas importers who visited Pakistan to attend the four-day trade event were seen seeking trade opportunities in the country.
Pakistani exporters were likely to bag export orders worth around US$ 100 million from several importers who attended the event, the Textile Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Tariq Puri stated.
Minister of Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim said that the global event could surely help boost country's exports, as it serves as a platform for promotion of domestic value-added products at international level.
