The 31st edition of the popular annual mega trade fair, the India International Trade Fair (IITF), has opened in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

IITF, the largest integrated Trade Fair with both B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to Consumer) components, will be open for general visitors from November 19 to 27.

The theme of IITF this year, organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), is 'Indian Handicrafts - The Magic of Gifted Hands'.

Around 800 rural artisans and craftsmen from different corners of the country are exhibiting their products for sale at the rural development pavilion.

Jharkhand and West Bengal are the partner States at the fair, while Bihar and Orissa are the focus States this year.

Besides handicraft items prepared by artisans from 27 States of India, the fair is also showcasing products of 230 exhibitors from 26 countries. 16 of these overseas participants have also set up their national pavilions.

Weavers at the Bihar pavilion have put up hand-woven silk saris and silk woven art on display, while the State of Jharkhand has showcased its tribal and silk art at the fair. Jharkhand is a sole organic tropical Tasar silk producing State of India and has displayed the same at the fair.
