Japan imported US$ 58.681 million worth of silk commodities from China during January to September of the current year, showing an increase of 41.83 percent year-on-year.
Volume-wise, too, the country registered a year-on-year increase of 5.86 percent and imported 1245.23 tons of silk items during the first three quarters of 2011.
The average unit price of silk commodities too increased by 33.98 percent y-o-y to US$ 47.12 per kg during the period.
Japan's imports accounted for 10.94 percent and 9.73 percent of the total export of China's silk commodities by value and volume, respectively.
