A carbon fibre production line with a capacity of 5,000 tons per annum has been put into operation by Jilin Chemical Fiber Group, which makes the group, the largest carbon fibre producer in China.
Jilin Chemical Fiber Group invested 550 million Yuan to set up the plant, which has four production lines and bought advanced equipment from abroad.
One production line is to produce 500 tons per annum of T300 Class 1K & 3K carbon fibre precursor and other three lines will produce 1500 tons per year of T300 grade 12K carbon fiber precursor.
Once fully operational, the production line will generate nearly 400 million Yuan of annual sales income, and realize nearly 180 million Yuan in profits.
If demand picks up further, Jilin plans to expand carbon fibre capacity to 20,000 tons by the end of China's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan".
