Nippon Steel Corporation Co. (NSCC), which operates an aromatics plant in Hirohata - Japan, plans to undertake maintenance turnaround of the plant in the month of May 2012.
A NSCC official revealed to fibre2fashion that they would undertake maintenance shutdown of the aromatics plant in May 2011, which would last for a month. This maintenance turnaround is undertaken once every year.
The aromatics plant has a benzene capacity of 70,000 tons / year and toluene output of 10,000 tons / year.
He further added that since early November 2011, the plant is operating at around 70-75% levels, due to short supply of feedstock and that the run rates of the plant are also dependent on the demand from the steel industry.
