Chinese cotton linter trends stable, VSF declines

In the previous week, price of cotton linter was stable. In the last week, price of cotton linter opened at around RMB 3600/ton. Market fundamentals remained quite stable; therefore trading offers were in between RMB 3550/ton to RMB 3650/ton.

Price of dissolving pulp remained dull in the same period and remained firm at RMB 8100/ton in Chinese domestic market. In Chinese market, price of dissolving wood pulp was in the range of US$ 1200/ton to US$ 1300/ton. Pulp imported from U.S.A, Canada and Sweden were below US$ 1200/ton. Counter offers were around US$ 1000/ton, but very few deals concluded at lower level.

Price of VSF declined and producers firmly held their offers around RMB 16000/ton, but there was almost no inquiry. Earlier in the week, price opened at RMB 16000/ton, but due to bearish trend, price touched the level of RMB 15900/ton. In Chinese export market, selling offers for VSF remained unchanged in the range of US$ 2.50/kg to US$ 2.60/kg on (FOB CMP) base.
