Cotton yarn prices remain stable in Chinese markets

There was no significant change in the price of cotton yarn in Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces of China during the past week.

The price index of cotton grade 229 increased slightly by 38 yuan/ton to 20,297 yuan/ton during the past week. The weekly average price was 20,276 yuan/ton, a decline of 20 yuan/ton from the previous week.

Similarly, the price index of cotton grade 328 increased by 56 yuan/ton to close at 19,057 yuan/ton at the weekend. The weekly average price was 19,026 yuan/ton, a drop of 12 yuan/ton form the previous week.

During the week, the spot price of cotton showed a slight rebound and stabilized at 19,000 yuan/ton. The cotton yarn market remained stabilized as downstream fabric and garment industries did not see significant rise in orders.

At present, the mainstream price of cotton yarn C32s is around 26,000 yuan/ton in Henan, Hebei and Shandong provinces. The price of higher quality yarn is around 27,000 yuan/ton. The stability in price of cotton yarn has provided stability to pure cotton fabrics market.
