ThyssenKrupp Uhde, one of the world's leading engineering companies in the design and construction of chemical, refining and other industrial plants, is planning to invest 200 million euros for setting up a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant in Russia's Kabardino-Balkaria region.
The plant would have a capacity to produce 486,000 tons per year of PET for the textile and food industry. It would create 2,500 new employment opportunities.
A portion of the investment is likely to be shared by the Russian Government and local administration.
The construction of the project is expected to begin in March 2012.
Since its foundation 80 years ago, ThyssenKrupp Uhde has more than 2000 completed plants to its credit.
