The Ministry of Economy and Industry of the autonomous region of Galicia in northwestern Spain has approved 750,000 euros for promotion of Galician textile and apparel sector in export markets.
The funding is part of the Galicia Fashion Textile Plan - Vision 2020, framed to boost textiles and apparel industry, one of the main sectors of the Galician economy.
Galician textile and apparel companies have submitted 46 projects that are to benefit from the plan, a 28 percent higher number of projects than those submitted previous year, according to the regional government.
This is an encouraging development, as the adoption of new strategies for design and positioning would enable Galician textile and clothing companies to compete in international markets.
