The Woolmark Company (TWC), a subsidiary of Australian Wool Innovation - a not-for-profit organisation, owned by 29,000 Australian woolgrowers has come forward to participate in Tex-Trends 2012, one of the largest textile trade fairs in India in association with the Wool Industry Export Promotion Council of India (WOOLTEXPRO).

Presenting the theme, 'Merino. Inspired by Nature', The Woolmark Company will unveil a new range in the 'Mothers and Babies' category, made of soft and natural Merino wool along with innovations and the most inspiring trends in wool fabrics for Autumn Winter 2012-13.

Tex-Trends is India's largest textile and apparel fair organised by the Ministry of Textiles, Commerce and Industry in association with all leading export promotion councils of India. A blend of the traditional and the modern, Tex-Trends India 2012, will be the biggest ever event on Indian textiles featuring over 1000 exhibitors displaying a diverse range of products from the entire length and breadth of the country. Tex-Trends India 2012 will truly be a showcase of the strengths of the entire Indian textile industry.

The Woolmark Company, the global authority on wool in association with WOOLTEXPRO will represent the theme 'Merino. Inspired by Nature' at the centre of a 'Wool Arena'.

The 'Mothers and Babies' category will be a key focus for The Woolmark Company, as it aims to drive demand for Merino wool in the parenthood market by educating consumers, manufactures and brands alike, about the benefits of using Merino wool. The program has so far identified that wool can contribute to improved health and well-being for infants such as better sleeping and therefore faster growth and development.

Other highlights on show from The Woolmark Company will be 'The Wool Lab', which has become an important tool for highlighting and inspiring the global apparel industry to source the best Merino wool fabrics and yarns in the world, identifying emerging trends in fashion and other fields from design to art, music and pop culture.

Expressing his excitement at being part of Tex-Trends 2012, Mr. Amir Sheikh, Country Manager, India says, “Being a global authority on wool, we bring interesting concepts to the Indian wool industry through various product platforms under the theme of 'Merino. Inspired by Nature'. This participation in association with WOOLTEXPRO is an initiative to present the strengths of Indian wool industry to the global market.”

“Wool is a premium natural fibre and with the assurance of 'Woolmark' quality standards, the natural, soft and comfortable qualities of wool will always be in vogue. Tex-Trends 2012 gives us the opportunity to highlight this natural fibre to the global trade thereby creating interest among visiting buyers to increase its demand,” Mr. Sheikh adds.

The Woolmark Company and AWI operate worldwide with offices in over 18 countries, with the headquarters is in Sydney, Australia.

Woolmark is the iconic fibre brand symbolising the best wool in the world. Created in 1964, by Italian graphic designer Francesco Saroglia, the Woolmark logo perfectly represents the softness, elegance and modernity of wool. Today it is still amongst the ten most recognised and appreciated brands in the world.
